Steps in the Admission Process:
|STEP ONE||Submit all of the following required forms (below) with $100 application fee if new family.|
|STEP TWO||The required forms will be reviewed and you will be contacted.|
|STEP THREE||An interview may be conducted with both the student and parents and students may be tested before placement.|
|STEP FOUR||Upon notification of acceptance, you will receive an enrollment packet. Please submit the completed enrollment forms within 10 days of acceptance.|
Please download, print, and fill out all paperwork where required. After filling out those forms, please send to Horizon Christian School, 700 Pacific Ave, Hood River, OR 97031. Horizon Christian School seeks students who will enjoy and benefit from an environment that focuses on a high academic standard and where spiritual growth is encouraged. Horizon admits students who exhibit values and goals consistent with our mission and vision: to educate students for the glory of God, to demonstrate spiritual and academic excellence, to model the Christian life, and to enrich the community we serve. Students seeking admission are evaluated on the basis of their report cards, references, admission questionnaires, interviews, and potential to perform satisfactorily at Horizon Christian School.
Pre-Kindergarten students who are three years of age by September 1 of the school year and are fully potty trained may enroll in the Pre-kindergarten Tuesday/Thursday class. Pre-Kindergarten students who are four years old by September 1 of the school year may enroll in the Monday/Wednesday/Friday class OR Monday – Friday.
Kindergarten students must be five years of age on or before September 1. Students entering kindergarten may be interviewed and evaluated to ascertain their readiness for the kindergarten program.
Students entering first grade must be six years of age on or before September 1 or have successfully completed a year of kindergarten and must be able to satisfactorily test within a year of grade level or above in math and verbal (reading / language arts) skills.
Students entering grades 2-12 must provide copies of recent standardized test scores and/or a current report card with their application. Academic testing may be required. Admission is dependent upon evidence that the student's most recent schooling experience has been successful both academically and behaviorally.
Upon enrollment, each student must have on file a Certificate of Immunization Status as required by the Oregon Department of Health. Click here to view Immunization Requirements.
