Horizon Christian School

I believe science is a window that allows us to understand our Creator God and His ways. When I teach I desire to help guide students to learn to see the hand of our great God through His creation. I strive to spark interest and inquisitiveness in my students, and then coach them toward not only learning facts but finding ways to use the knowledge they learn to impact their world. I love to see students collaborating together as they learn how the real world operates based on what we know about Science. I am committed to challenge students to think outside the box and invent new technologies to make our lives better and to help our environment become healthier. I have been teaching the homeschool students at Horizon Christian School since 2018 when we began the Homeschool program. Before coming to Horizon, another homeschool mom and I began a homeschool co-op in the Gorge that ran for ten years and had up to 83 students. Prior to this I taught at both public and private schools in Southern California. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from BIOLA University in 1996 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biological Science with a secondary education concentration and a Minor in Bible. What I do for fun is help teens understand God’s world and God’s word by challenging them to notice the evidence of God in all of His creation and see His hand lovingly at work in their lives and in the lives of those around them. My husband and I have worked together with youth since 1993. We began serving as the youth leaders at Grace Baptist Church when we moved here in 2004 and are still enjoying this ministry. Together we have gone on missions to New Zealand and Mexico with a combination of youth and adults. I have had the privilege to speak at women’s retreats and youth camps and enjoy turning others attention completely on Jesus Christ, the One who lovingly designed us on purpose for a purpose. In my spare time I love to hike with friends and youth and talk about Jesus along the way. I also enjoy using photography and videography to show what God is doing around us, in us and through us to communicate the Good News.
