05-16-12 - Triple Threat Camp
Horizon will once again be offering a basketball camp to students in the Columbia Gorge area. The camp will be June 20-24. Session I, for students entering grades 4 - 6, will be from 9 am to noon; Session II is for students entering grades 7 - 9 and will be from 1 to 4 pm. The camp emphasizes a Christian concept of at5hletic competition and sportsmanship along with fundamentals. Registration forms are available at the school office.
05-16-12 - May Term Kick-off
May Term, running from May 21 - 25) will kick-off with a Service Day on Monday for 7-12th grade classes. Each class has identified a service project and will be involved in that. On Tuesday, students will begin their May Term classes. Those classes include: CPR/First Aid/food handler's/natural disaster preparedness, board game design, pottery, swimming, Lego design, child development, exercise, calligraphy & origami, sewing for Haiti, ukulele 101, and geocaching. Other activities: internships, college exploration, and the Greece trip.
05-16-12 - OMSI Exhibit to Visit Horizon
A special OMSI exhibit will be coming to Horizon on Friday, May 18. Elementary students will have the exciting opportunity to experience the hands-on "Amazing Whales" program, which includes getting to crawl inside a life-size, 60 foot inflatable whale!
05-16-12 - Upcoming High School Formal
The high school formal is scheduled for Saturday, June 2. Following the dinner will be a formal dance. Dance lessons are being held on Tuesdays (May 15, 22, and 29) from 5:00 — 6:00 pm and Thursdays (May 17, 24, and 31) from 5:00 — 6:30 pm in the Horizon gym. Professional dancers Johnny and Hannah Griffin and Nate Ohlson are the instructors.

Horizon is accepting applications for several coaching positions: Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Basketball, and Golf. These are volunteer positions with stipends.
